Classic Car Addict is excited to present this 1994 Porsche 968 for sale in our Mesa, Arizona showroom. The Porsche 968 is a sports car manufactured by German automobile manufacturer Porshe AG from 1991 until 1995. It was the final evolution of a series of water-cooled front-engine rear wheel drive models that began 20 years earlier with 924, taking over the entry level position in the company lineup from the 944. The 968 was Porsche's last new front-engine vehicle before the introduction of the Cayenne in 2003. There were only 1,076 produced, and only 778 in US and Canada.
The 968 was mainly a restyled evolution of the 944 with design links visible to its predecessor. Design work was done by Harm Lagaay who had designed the 924 and the 944 as well. The front of the car largely resembled the top-of-the line 928, sharing its exposed pop-up headlamps and the integrated front bumper. This frontal design would eventually appear on the 911 (993) two years later.
The cabin features power-adjustable front bucket seats and rear seats that are finished in black leather that color coordinates with the dashboard, carpets and door panel treatments. Accessories include cruise control, power windows, power locks, and air conditioning. The original radio was removed and replaced with a Kenwood CD player. The leather-wrapped steering wheel frames a 160-mph speedometer, an 8k-rpm tachometer, and gauges for fuel level, coolant temperature, oil pressure, and voltage.
The exterior is finished in red and does have some sun fade marks on the front fenders. Front headlights and fog lights do work. Additional options include a color matched targa top, a rear window wiper, rear spoiler, and comes with two seats of rims. The wheels on it currently are said to be Fuch replicas.
The 3.0 liter inline-four is mated to a 4 speed triptronic automatic transmission that was factory rated a 236 horsepower and 225 lb.-ft of torque. A booklet of receipts will be sent with the sale of the vehicle. All work was done at TRE motorsports in CA that included timing belt, balance shaft, serpentine belt, water pump, new radiator and front brake pads.
